Refreshingly lacking in pretension, ZANEROBE’s simple and clean design aesthetic encourages a relaxed approach to fashion, appealing to both men and women who enjoy a street and sport lifestyle. In this sense each collection promotes a certain wearability, one that perfectly compliments the laid back lifestyle that is quintessential to Australian culture. Little surprise then, that the brand is a favorite amongst the finest Australian sporting personalities in all the major codes like Benji Marshall (West Tigers), Nick Malcheski (Sydney Swans), Michael Clarke (Cricket Australia) and Matt Giteau (Australian Wallaby).
Established and designed by Jonathan Yeo and Leith Testoni, ZANEROBE’s debut collection was concise, featuring just a small line of contemporary poplin shirting. After an invitation to show at MAFW in 2003, however, the collection developed further and has since expanded each season. Along with the signature shirting, stand out styles include logo and graphic printed tees, brightly coloured board shorts and most recently tailored pants and ‘street/tech’ style jackets.
At present ZANEROBE is sold through three ZANEROBE boutiques around Australia, as well as over 120 stores nationally, including David Jones where the brand was recently inducted into the department store’s ‘Australian Designer Family.’ Similarly the brand boasts an impressive list of international retail clients; amongst which are Barneys (US and Japan), Nordstrom, Solis, LifeandDeathClothing.com, Bloomingdales and Fred Segal in the US.
The Australian casual designer clothing now available in the UK, here at John Anthony. The whole ethos of Zanerobe is young, bright and vibrant with a collegiate influence but their use of different colour palettes and unique fading graphics gives the whole range a distinctive design appeal all on its own.
